Rocked Again

Serf Family, 


Although the SERFexperiment is geared toward the flowing creativity of life, a cause very close to the hearts of the SERF crew has struck again. Shortly after our trip to the Mentawai Islands in late July, Indonesia suffered one of the worst earthquakes to date. Many of the small villages that we visited and gained a world of knowledge from were completely destroyed. Last night a 6.1 earthquake struck again in the region close to Jakarta. Thankfully no damage has been reported, however we feel that it is our responsibility to remind those of us who are lucky enough to live freely that the single place that sprung the SERFexperiment is in dire need of our prayers and thoughts. Also, check out what our mentors and former instructors are doing to give back and remain intertwined in keeping the Mentawai people thriving. Last Mile Operations is what enables the SERFexperiment to keep flowing.

Milky clouds paired with humid breath. the single moment when the last sign of light is your only companion. A sea forgotten for its purity and color encompass your lustful eye, for you have just seen heaven in the form of whites, turquoise and magenta. Flowing through, what looks like the last remaining paradise on earth is the reflection of yourself, not in mirror form, but in soul defining simplicity of a vessel you call home. No longer do the sounds of irritating technology invade your thoughts for there is not one discomfort within 10,000 miles. You are between the sea and your soul, consciously realizing for the first time that the horizon line and your self are not from from reach.
